david prown 120I am on unintentionally on a run of 3 consecutive movies based on true stories (A Current War, Midway) and now HARRIET….each better than the proceeding.

HARRIET was immensely powerful as every screen shot showcased the historically iconic, heroic Harriet Tubman.  Played exquisitely by Cynthia Erivo (guaranteed best actress nomination), this film should very much be in the running for best picture also.

No doubt, America’s most famous female abolitionist, she led endless and immensely dangerous missions to transport over 70 slaves over 100+ miles by foot to freedom in the north thru the Underground Railroad.

Just a jaw dropping piece of history and Harriet’s drive, focus and yes expertise to get others to freedom (after she did it herself solo in 1849) was simply mind-boggling.

One of the most important Americans of all time and a terrific film for all including teenagers.
