TINTON FALLS, NJ – Fifteen talented artists from programs throughout The Arc of Monmouth will be on display at a month-long exhibit entitled “Impressions” at the Belmar Arts Center, running through December 22, 2016. More than forty pieces will be part of the exhibit, and most will be available for purchase from the artist.
Westminster Presbyterian Church Dedicated 2016 Field of Flags Memorial

Middletown, NJ - Westminster Presbyterian Church (WPC) of Middletown will officially dedicate the 2016 Field of Flags during a special ceremony on Saturday, November 5th, 2016 at 10:00 am. This year’s striking memorial contains 6863 flags and was placed on the WPC Great Lawn on Tindall Road on October 15th by nearly 100 members of the congregation and local community. It will remain standing until November 19th. The Field of Flags was created 5 years ago to honor those who serve in the military, especially those who have died in the conflicts in Iraq and Afghanistan. Each flag in the field represents a serviceman or woman who has given their life in those conflicts.

PHOTO: On October 21, renowned musician and Educator Christian Howes of Ohio, was the guest artist who conducted an all-day workshop and culminating inter-string concert which brought together middle school musicians from Red Bank and Little Silver along and RBR high school string players.
Little Silver: Every year, the Red Bank Regional High School (RBR) invites its sending school string students to join their big brothers and sisters for an Inter-District String Concert.

Township Partners with American Legion Post 338 for WWI Monument Restoration

MIDDLETOWN – The township is gearing up to restore a local World War I monument with help from American Legion Post 338.
American Legion Post 338 has made a $1,000 donation to help fund repair of the circa 1930 monument located on Church Street in Belford, announced Mayor Gerry Scharfenberger, Ph.D. The donation was presented to the township at the October Township Committee meeting by Commander Ron Stark and legion member Tom Garretson. Both men are also members of the township’s Veterans Affairs Committee.
