MIDDLETOWN, NJ - Jersey Central Power and Light reports 1622 customers were without power in Middletown on Friday morning. A transformer fire was the cause of the outage in the Belford area of town.

MIDDLETOWN, NJ – Boy Scouts of the USA Troop 246 of Middletown, NJ celebrated the achievements of Jack McQuade and Jonathan Kiernan, each of whom earned Boy Scout’s highest rank, Eagle. Robert Pogoda and Nick Matera, who also received their Eagle rank in 2015, joined Jack and Jonathan, along with former Eagle Scouts, troop members, family and friends for the Eagle Court of Honor ceremony, followed by refreshments at the Elks Lodge #233 in Red Bank, NJ.

Fair Haven, N.J. – Cozmeena Enlightened Living, a Fair Haven, NJ-based lifestyle brand centered around knitting for those experiencing hardship, has expanded its local knitting efforts. This holiday season, Cozmeena knitters created infinity and straight-fringed scarves for hundreds of children and adults served by Covenant House Asbury, The Center in Asbury Park (AIDS center and homeless shelter) and Mary’s Place by the Sea, a respite center for women undergoing treatment for cancer in Ocean Grove. The effort, led by more than 30 knitters, is now being expanded to encourage others in New Jersey to join.
