ATLANTIC HIGHLANDS, NJ - Students at Mother Teresa Regional School in Atlantic Highlands spent an hour today in Adoration of the Eucharist. Their prayers were offered for Pope Benedict XVI and the church at this historic time.
“Our lives as Catholics are centered around the Eucharist and today was a way for us to offer our prayers to God for the Pope and the church” noted principal Melissa Whelan Wisk. Students listened as Fr. William Dunlap explained the Benediction and offered prayers for the Pope who has resigned. “This is definitely a teachable moment” Mrs. Wisk went on to say, “Our students will remember this time. Our 8th grade was in Kindergarten when Pope Benedict was elected, now they are graduating and we will have a new Pope.”
Julia Muench, Pianist to perform at Middletown Township Public Library

MIDDLETOWN, NJ - Middletown Township Public Library located at 55 New Monmouth Road, is proud to present “ An exciting program of American Music”, a piano concert on Monday April 8, 2012 beginning at 7:00 pm.
Performing will be Julia Muench who will play pieces by Gershwin, Morton, Brubeck, Joplin and others and original compositions.
Composer, pianist and educator, Julia Muench, is on the faculty of the Monmouth Conservatory of Music in Red Bank, New Jersey, where she gives solo and chamber music concerts as well as music workshops with an emphasis on world music influences, dance and the musical phenomena. Julia is also a member of the New York Women Composers, the American Music Center, and ASCAP where she was recently awarded a writer’s award in the Ascaplus classical division.
The free concert will take place in the library’s Community Room. No registration is required but space is limited so come early. The Middletown Township Library is conveniently located just one-third of a mile east of Route 35 North.

PORT MONMOUTH, NJ - Members of the Port Monmouth Fire Company visited the February Township Committee meeting to thank the governing body for their support after Superstorm Sandy. Each member was presented with a Middletown Strong t-shirt. Pictured are Mayor Gerry Scharfenberger and Committeeman Tony Fiore with their shirts. Port Monmouth Fire Company is selling Middletown Strong t-shirts and hoodies to the public at their firehouse, located at 125 Main Street in Port Monmouth, on Saturday, Feb. 23 and Sunday, February 24 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. while supplies last.

MIDDLETOWN, NJ - Christian teenagers from across the U.S. will come to Monmouth County to repair homes for low income, elderly or disabled residents. Teams of 5 teenagers and at least one adult leader will do the work. Work will be done July 7-13 and July 14-20, 2013. Eligible repairs may include: Exterior/Interior Painting, Mobile Home Roof Coating, Wheelchair Ramps, Porch Repair or replacement, Weatherization, Exterior step repair or replacement, limited roofing (no tear-offs). Both labor & materials will be free to qualifying homeowners. (Must own home), Applications will be carefully reviewed to determine qualification. In order to be considered, please return application A.S.A.P. no later than March 31, 2013.
