FREEHOLD, NJ – Monmouth County Commissioner Director Thomas A. Arnone and County Commissioner Deputy Director Susan M. Kiley have announced that today, Jan. 24, there are 389 new positive cases of COVID-19 in Monmouth County. There is one new death being reported today related to COVID-19 in Monmouth County.
The County Commissioners and the Monmouth County Health Department (MCHD) are strongly urging residents to do their part to slow the spread by practicing social distancing, wearing a face covering when social distancing is not possible, not gathering in large crowds, washing their hands and staying home when sick.

MANALAPAN – Not only is the Monmouth County Library alive and well, but it has seen creative growth in technology, services, and an increase in membership during the past ten months, the director told Library Commissioners at their reorganization meeting this week.
Library Director Judith Tolchin agreed with the Commissioners that the COVID-19 restrictions have created trying times for a library that includes 13 branches and 13 member libraries, 137 employees, and more than 130,000 patrons.
But it is comprised of a staff that is ambitious, works well together and offers and adapts creative resources to continue to serve the public, accomplishments possible because of a carefully designed team of leaders who have been capable of keeping the library flourishing, she said.
Nut Swamp School Math-A-Thon Raises $34K for St. Jude Children's Hospital

MIDDLETOWN, NJ - During the first week of January, Nut Swamp Elementary School students and staff embarked on a philanthropic mission to support families in need at St. Jude Children's Hospital.
From Jan. 4-8, students kindergarten to fifth grade took part in a mathematics challenge that raised $34,000 for the Tennessee-based research hospital, which, through donations and fundraising, is able to provide treatment to patients without billing for treatment, travel, housing or food.

ATLANTIC HIGHLANDS, NJ - On Thursday, January 14, 2021, Mayor Loretta Gluckstein officiated over a ribbon-cutting ceremony officially welcoming the Law Office of Wendy M. Crowther to 98 First Avenue, Atlantic Highlands in the former law office of attorney Arthur Sorensen.
In attendance were Wendy M. Crowther and her family (husband Martin, daughters, Julia and Cece), Mr. Sorensen’s widow, Leigh Sorensen, and his former assistant, Debbie Goggins who continues her employ with Mrs. Crowther. Councilwoman Lori Hohenleitner attended as well as numerous members of the community.
