Brooklyn Man Charged with Luring, Sexual Assault of Juvenile

FREEHOLD – A Brooklyn man accused of luring and sexually assaulting a 13-year-old child in a Wall Township motel back in November is being held in the Monmouth County Correctional Facility following his arrest in Rockland County, New York last month, announced Monmouth County Prosecutor Christopher J. Gramiccioni.
Michael Torenheim, 33, of Brooklyn, New York was arrested in Spring Valley, New York, by members of the U.S. Marshals Service, New Jersey State Police and Wall Township Police Department. Torenheim now faces charges of second degree sexual assault, second degree luring and third degree endangering the welfare of a child. The charges were the result of a joint investigation of the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office and Wall Township Police Department.

LINCROFT, NJ – Monmouth County Commissioner Thomas A. Arnone and Commissioner Susan M. Kiley were appointed as Commissioner Director and Commissioner Deputy Director, respectively, at the Board’s 2021 Organization Meeting held on Thursday, Jan. 7 at Brookdale Community College.
“I would like to thank the Board for appointing me to serve as the 2021 Director,” said Commissioner Director Arnone. “Last year was challenging, but I am proud of everything we accomplished here in Monmouth County and the fact that we have not taken one day off since March 9 and have remained dedicated to protecting and serving our residents and businesses.
MCSPCA Launches Pilot Program Placing Shelter Dogs with Local Police

EATONTOWN, NJ – The Monmouth County SPCA has recently introduced a pilot program placing shelter dogs within police departments to serve as emotional support animals. The Eatontown Police Department is the first to partner with the shelter with its Chief, Bill Lucia serving as the proud adopter of a dog named Tala, who says “It is really such a simple concept when you think about it, anybody can have a dog at home, but having a dog at work has proven to be very impactful in assisting officers coping with stressful situations. It has also had a significant impact on the overall morale of the department.”
Community Celebrates 90th Birthday of Betty Lou Connell

ATLANTIC HIGHLANDS - Dozens of vehicles, from borough fire trucks, police cars and decorated trucks, vans and cars paraded past Betty Lou Connell's home on Wesley ave. yesterday to honor the long time borough resident on her 90th birthday.
Born in Fair Haven, Connell moved to the same house where she now lives when she was two years old, left to establish a home of her own when she married, then returned to take care of first her mother, then her mother, until they died, "and I've been here ever since," the chipper nonagenarian laughed.
Monmouth County has 643 additional positive cases of COVID-19

FREEHOLD, NJ – Monmouth County Commissioner Director Thomas A. Arnone and County Commissioner Deputy Director Susan M. Kiley have announced that today, Jan. 8, there are 643 new positive cases of COVID-19 in Monmouth County. There are eight new deaths being reported today related to COVID-19 in Monmouth County.
The County Commissioners and the Monmouth County Health Department (MCHD) are strongly urging residents to do their part to slow the spread by practicing social distancing, wearing a face covering when social distancing is not possible, not gathering in large crowds, washing their hands and staying home when sick.
