KEYPORT, NJ - The Keyport Yacht Club (KYC) will be hosting the 14th Annual Bill Volk Regatta & Charity Cup on Saturday, June 21st and Sunday, June 22nd’ in Keyport, NJ. We would love for you to be there!
For the second year, the charity campaign will be “Sailing for the Bayshore” to benefit the RAINE (Reaching All In Need Everyday) Foundation of Hazlet, NJ. Sailors will race to help raise funds for those in the Bayshore who are still trying to put their homes and lives back together after Superstorm Sandy.
“It has been over a year and a half since Superstorm Sandy devastated our community, but there are so many people in our area still struggling to recover,” said Keyport Yacht Club Commodore Ann Quinn. “We are very proud that we were able to raise over $13,000 last year for Sandy relief in our area and we look forward to another successful event this year.”
Count Basie Announces Contract Extension for CEO Adam Philipson

RED BANK, N.J., June 16, 2014— The Count Basie Theatre has announced a three-year contract extension for its President and CEO Adam S. Philipson. The extension commences July 1, 2014 and extends the incumbent CEO through mid-2017.
"We are delighted with this agreement to keep Adam at the Basie for the next three years -- and hopefully beyond that,” said Tom Widener, Chairman of Count Basie Theatre’s Board of Trustees and Directors. “This is a very important time for the Basie as we embark on an effort to raise capital to allow us to continue to invest in our building, our entertainment programs and our education programs. Adam's continued leadership will benefit the Basie and the communities we serve.”
Youth EMS Members Test Their Emergency Skills

KEYPORT, NJ - The future of the emergency medical services in New Jersey was on display Saturday when young members of local EMS squads gathered for the first annual Keyport First Aid Cadet Competition.
The daylong affair pitted cadet members of participating squads in a series of skills tests to gauge their abilities in high-pressure emergency scenarios including splinting, bandaging, cardiac arrest and vehicle extrication.
Teams of cadets representing Keyport First Aid, Keansburg First Aid, Bradley Gardens First Aid & Rescue, the Milltown Rescue Squad, and Tinton Falls North participated in the event, which was conceived and managed by Keyport First Aid.
Jerry Vasto, of Atlantic Highlands, Named to All-American Team

RUTHERFORD, N.J. – Felician College junior pitcher Jerry Vasto (Atlantic Highlands, N.J./Henry Hudson Regional) has named to the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) Division II Honorable-Mention All-America team, according to balloting released on Thursday.
Vasto is just Felician's second All-American in any sport since the athletics program reclassified to the NCAA in 2003. The other was also a baseball player, first-baseman Frank Quintana in 2007.
