ATLANTIC HIGHLANDS - The Mayor and council took no action, nor did it set another date for future action, after a two hour long public hearing last week in which the Chief of Police strongly urged parking from First to Fifth avenues on Ocean Blvd. Numerous residents voiced their opinions, the majority opposing the proposal.

For many people who read the daily newspapers or pay attention to news on the internet, the diplomatic meeting between American and Chinese delegations on March 19 in Anchorage, Alaska was a textbook description of how relations are built among nations. After watching that meeting, one might conclude that diplomacy is a meeting between two bullies seeking to gain advantages over the other. The reality is that the same type of behavior is found in both the Senate and the House of Representatives. The Democrats and the Republicans threaten, bully, and defend their own party and turf, no matter how wrong or inconsistent they are.
Monmouth County has 160 additional positive cases of COVID-19

FREEHOLD, NJ – Monmouth County Commissioner Director Thomas A. Arnone and County Commissioner Deputy Director Susan M. Kiley have announced that today, April 12, there are 160 new positive cases of COVID-19 in Monmouth County. There are four new deaths being reported today related to COVID-19 in Monmouth County.
The County Commissioners and the Monmouth County Health Department (MCHD) are strongly urging residents to do their part to slow the spread by practicing social distancing, wearing a face covering when social distancing is not possible, not gathering in large crowds, washing their hands and staying home when sick.

Grant Applications Are Now Open to Improve Community Parks, Recreation Centers, and Stadiums
Towns have a deadline of May 24 to apply
TRENTON, NJ – Recognizing the critical importance of local recreation at this heightened time of need, the New Jersey Department of Community Affairs’ (DCA) Division of Local Government Services (DLGS) announced that applications are now being accepted for a new Local Recreation Improvement Grant Program that is being offered to New Jersey counties, municipalities, and school districts. The Murphy Administration has allocated $2.5 million in the Fiscal Year 2021 budget to this competitive grant program that supports improvement and repair of public recreation facilities including local parks, municipal recreation centers, and local stadiums.
