HIGHLANDS, NJ - Dr. Susan Compton, Superintendent of the Tri-District Schools, presented the preliminary strategic plans of the Atlantic Highlands Elementary (AHES), Highlands Elementary (HES), and Henry Hudson Regional Schools (HHRS) at the NJ School Boards Convention in Atlantic City on October 28th. Presenting along with her were Kathy Winecoff, Field Service Representative, NJ School Boards Association; Daniel Loughran, Tri-District Supervisor of Curriculum and Instruction; Nina Flannery, Chair, HES Board of Education; Rosemary Ryan, Chair, HHRS Board of Education; Saranne Weimer, Chair, AHES Board of Education; Janet Walling, AHES Principal; Rosemary Schutz, HES Principal; and Lenore Kingsmore, HHRS Principal.
Highlands Residents Invited to Provide Input on Master Plan

HIGHLANDS, NJ - The Borough of Highlands is undertaking a reexamination of its Master Plan. The document lays out the town's vision for responsible development within the borough. A subcommittee of the Planning Board will meet Monday to hear from residents about the Master Plan.

Middletown Police Collecting Toys for Christmas

MIDDLETOWN, NJ - The annual Middletown Township PBA Local 124 Toy Drive is underway. New, unwrapped toys for boys, girls, tweens and teens can be brought to Police Headquarters at 1 Kings Highway or any of the township’s 11 fire houses. Donations can also be given to any Middletown Police Officer.
Toys are distributed to Middletown Helps Its Own, Jason’s Dreams and 180 Turning Lives Around. The Middletown officers also partner with local schools including Thorne Middle School and Middletown Helps Its Own to package and deliver Christmas baskets to hundreds of local families in need.

HIGHLANDS, NJ - Rik van Hemmen, Vice President of NMHA and author of the well-received book "A Chronology of Boating on the Navesink", will introduce the updated edition with new and expanded chapters containing more discoveries about boating on the Navesink.
Rik will also introduce the concept of the Navesink National Maritime Marine Sanctuary and invite discussion.
