Central Jersey Youth Chorale - Open Auditions Announced

RED BANK, NJ - Following rousing debut performance last Saturday, March 1st, the Central Jersey Youth Chorale – a , collaboration between the Count Basie Theatre and Red Bank’s middle and high schools – an open audition for new members will take place on March 17th and 19th at 6pm at Red Bank Middle School, 101 Harding Road in Red Bank.
Under the Direction of local conductor and Red Bank Regional High School music instructor Kristopher Zook, the chorale is a free, collaborative effort open to all any Monmouth County student in grades 4 through 8. Since its inception last October, the chorale has grown to include 35 students from various schools in Holmdel, Little Silver, Long Branch, Oceanport, Red Bank, Rumson, Shrewsbury and Marlboro.
Man Charged With Attempted Murder of Middletown Police Officer

MIDDLETOWN, NJ - The following police report is provided by the Middletown Township Police Department. All subjects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
On Wednesday, March 6, 2014shortly before 4:00 am, Middletown Police responded to a 911 call on Suffolk Lane, in Middletown, for a report of a drug overdose. The caller then subsequently left the house and waited for police. Upon arrival, the first responding officers were directed to the home where they encountered a male subject in the home who was armed with a knife. The subject became combative, and violently attacked the officers. A struggle ensued, and the subject repeatedly attempted to stab the officers before they were able to subdue the man and place him under arrest. In the course of arresting the defendant, one of the officers, Patrolman Frank Mazza, was injured and suffered stab wounds. The injured Officer and the defendant were both transported to Riverview Medical Center.

MIDDLETOWN, NJ - Middletown Township Public Library located at 55 New Monmouth Road, in conjunction with the Monmouth Conservatory of Music is proud to present a classical concert on Monday, March 31, beginning at 7:30 pm. Works by J. Brahms will be performed.
Vladislav Kovalsky is the artistic and executive director of the Monmouth Conservatory of Music and will perform on piano.
Giovanni Gonzalez, of Atlantic Highlands, Completes Navy Basic Training

(FHTNC)--Navy Seaman Recruit Giovanni Gonzalez, son of Luis G. Gonzalez of North Arlington, N.J. and Lourdes I. Irizarry of Atlantic Highlands, N.J., recently completed U.S. Navy basic training at Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, Ill.
During the eight-week program, Gonzalez completed a variety of training which included classroom study and practical instruction on naval customs, first aid, firefighting, water safety and survival, and shipboard and aircraft safety. An emphasis was also placed on physical fitness.
Middletown Voter Referendum Scheduled

Voting on the referendum will take place from 4 p.m. - 9 p.m. on Tuesday, March 11, 2014.
MIDDLETOWN, NJ - At the January 28th voting meeting, the Board of Education approved a voter referendum to issue $19.3 million in bonds to address critical facilities needs. The remainder of the $32.2 million cost of these projects will be funded by $12.9 million in state grants.
Sample ballots have been sent out by Monmouth County. Registered voters should receive them next week.
