Tigger House Foundation Says COVID-19 Crisis Taking a Toll on Those Struggling with Addiction
Red Bank, NJ – “The addiction recovery organization I work with - Tigger House Foundation - is reporting a 17% increase in opioid use during the pandemic. Without support groups meeting in person, contact with family members and friends, and schedules that include physical fitness, it’s not surprising that addicts are going back to bad habits. It’s critical that we bring awareness to this issue that, as some of you know, has personally affected my family,” said Mrs. New Jersey Kristina Henderson.
Structure Fire in the Chapel Hill section of Middletown Township

MIDDLETOWN, NJ - At 9:22p.m. Sunday, January 3, 2021 the Middletown Township Fire Department was dispatched to working structure reported by a neighbor at 248 Chapel Hill Road in the Chapel Hill section of Middletown Township. First Assistant Chief John Waltz confirmed flames were issuing from windows of the one-story ranch structure.
Monmouth County has 354 additional positive cases of COVID-19

FREEHOLD, NJ – Monmouth County Commissioner Director Thomas A. Arnone and County Commissioner Deputy Director Susan M. Kiley have announced that today, Jan. 3, there are 354 new positive cases of COVID-19 in Monmouth County. There are three new deaths being reported today related to COVID-19 in Monmouth County.
The County Commissioners and the Monmouth County Health Department (MCHD) are strongly urging residents to do their part to slow the spread by practicing social distancing, wearing a face covering when social distancing is not possible, not gathering in large crowds, washing their hands and staying home when sick.

Historian Michael Adelberg to Speak on Rebellion Before the American Revolution

MANALAPAN - Michael Adelberg, author, editor, novelist, essayist and scholar, will present Rebellion before Revolution: Pre-War Tremors in Monmouth County, on Thursday, Jan. 21, at 7 p.m. in a virtual presentation presented by the Monmouth County Historical Association and co-sponsored by the Monmouth County Library.
Adelberg’s presentation is part of the library’s Historically Speaking: A Virtual Lecture Series and will be conducted on Zoom. Registration and internet access are required to attend, and registration is available at the library’s Upcoming Events list at www.MonmouthCountyLib.org or @MonCoLibrary.
