MIDDLETOWN, NJ - The Middletown Youth Athletic Association (MYAA) has planned a gala celebration to honor 50 years of Little League baseball in Middletown.  A highlight of the weekend will be the Opening Day Parade that is scheduled for Saturday, April 10th with a rain date set for Sunday, April 11th.    The Parade will kick off at 12 NOON from Fairview Elementary School on Cooper Road.   Current and former players and managers, township and league officials,  as well as the Middletown North Orange Wave band will march their way down Statesir Place and up Navesink River Rd to Bodman Park for the Opening Ceremony.


The Lakewood Blueclaws mascot, "Buster" will be throwing out the ceremonial first pitch.  The afternoon will include moonwalks, hot dogs, and a "Pitch, Hit and Run Contest" for players 9-12.     At 2:30 PM there will be a Reunion Softball game featuring  players from the 1986 World Series team, the 2006 Boys Regional team, the 2007 World Series team and the 2008 NJ Girls State Championship Team.


The MYAA is searching for Middletown families where "Two Generations" have coached in the league.  The organization is also looking for memorabilia (uniforms, programs, equipment, etc.) to be put on display at the Bodman Park clubhouse.   Please contact myaalittleleague @aol.com or call Donna Cuming at 732-241-3993.
