RUTHERFORD, N.J. – Felician College junior pitcher Jerry Vasto (Atlantic Highlands, N.J./Henry Hudson Regional) has named to the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) Division II Honorable-Mention All-America team, according to balloting released on Thursday.

Vasto is just Felician's second All-American in any sport since the athletics program reclassified to the NCAA in 2003. The other was also a baseball player, first-baseman Frank Quintana in 2007. A complete list of the Golden Falcons' All-Americans, including from their NAIA era, can be viewed at https://www.felicianathletics.com/information/All-Americans/index .

Vasto, a 6-foot-2, 200-pound left-hander, enjoyed a breakout 2014 campaign. He posted a 6-3 record, one save, and an earned-run average of 1.84, the third-best in Felician history. In 68 1/3 innings, he gave up 53 hits and 29 walks, and set a Golden Falcon record with 79 strikeouts. He twice struck out 11 batters in a game, put together a 27-inning scoreless streak, and pitched a three-hit shutout against nationally-ranked Wilmington (Del.) University on Apr. 14.

Vasto was voted the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Pitcher of the Year, a first for the Golden Falcons. He was a consensus First Team All-East Region selection, and was named to the CACC All-Tournament Team. He is a 2010 graduate of Henry Hudson Regional of Highlands.

Vasto and the Golden Falcons won the program's first CACC Championship in 2014, and advanced to their first NCAA Tournament. They set school records for wins and winning percentage by finishing 30-20 (.600).
